MINUTES OF COMPTON MARTIN PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

HELD ON 11 APRIL 2016 AT 7.00 P.M.

It was proposed and seconded that the minutes of the 14 March 2016 be approved and signed.

6.         Annual Parish Council Meeting 5th May – 7.30 p.m. in the School Room

·         Discussion took place regarding the Annual Parish Council Meeting and the Annual Parish Meeting.  Annual Parish Meeting PowerPoint Presentation will be ready to view on the 5th May

7.         Chew Valley Neighbourhood Plan

·         The first draft of the Chew Valley Neighbourhood Plan had been delayed by a few days.  The report on meeting held on the 21 March 2016 had been circulated.  All participating Parish Council Chairmen will be attending the next meeting on Monday 18 April in order to sign the document.

9.         To receive Updates from Working Parties

 

            1. Combe View, Herringbone Wall and The Batch

·         To receive an update from the Working Party

Combe View had received its first cut of the season.  The wild plants appeared to be doing well.

2. The Pond

·         To receive an update from the Working Party

A working party meeting had taken place and it was agreed no work on the pond was required at this stage.  The water is being tested on a weekly basis and the Working Party were also receiving test results from Bristol Water.

 

3. Highways

To receive an update from the Working Party

·         Update on Litter Bin request for Mendip Villas

The Clerk continuing to pursue this matter.

·         To receive an update on The Pump

To be placed on the June agenda

·         Request from residents of Mendip Villas regarding the need for further parking.

VP will visit Curo to discuss this matter on behalf of the Parish Council

and report back.

 

4. Broadband Working Party

·         The working party is continuing to gather information for BT. 

 

5. Finance Working Party

·         A  Finance Working Party Meeting will take place and all Councillors were invited to attend.

 

10.       To receive reports from Councillors who have attended outside meetings.

11.       To receive an update from District Councillor Victor Pritchard

·         VP reported that Dr J Farrar was leaving the authority and moving to the Civil Service.  B&NE are looking at recruiting on a temporary basis and from within the authority.
