The Verge from Leamon Cottage to Mendip Villas
Location
West end of Compton Martin
Comments
The verge and hedge is maintained by the Parish Council and cut twice a year as part of their maintenance programme.
September 2017
At the time of reviewing this fixed asset it is noted there is a planning application for the former orchard which lies behind the verge from Leamon Cottage to Mendip Villas. It is unclear at this stage how this will affect the verge and the Parish Council will consider this once a planning application has been approved and the situation becomes clearer.
September 2018
Planning Permission is expected to be granted, it is still unclear at this stage how this affects the verge, comments above remain unchanged.
September 2019
Planning Permission granted. Work on clearing the site is complete. CIL payments being monitored and first instalment made. Discussions regarding hedge and verge have taken place with Dr and Mrs Edwards who will be retaining a small section of the hedge and verge and therefore the Parish Council will continue to be responsible for the maintenance. The verge and hedge relating to the development will be discussed separately.
